I love the United States of America.

I am not concerned about what others think about this feeling that I have. This is what I think specifically, for myself. One can interpret an emotion towards Uncle Sam as performative, narcissistic or as a dog whistle towards patriotism. Anyone has the right to interpret it this way.

What comes with this love is currently a burden. Today, due to the information superhighway’s coming out party, how you feel towards the USA matters. It did not in previous decades matter that much, to most. Many times in the past, telling people to “love your country” was another way of saying “get in line”; that is, do not upset the apple cart, and follow the rules. Sometimes these rules were inhumane, therefore making the “love your country” and the flag itself create hatred, shame and envy.

More recently, it has mainly been used to divide people. Divide them in thought, and in person. If you do not fly the flag, or show daily submission to the elected representatives you are a traitor. You may not be labelled that, but individuals do really think this way, because of this action to divide people, to see each other as that, an other.

I have more recently come to the end of the long term process of being naturalized as an American citizen. The process took 14 years and indirectly more than 100K US. “Indirectly” due to all the extraneous time and costs associated not only with lawyer, but also process fees. I mention this because I am considered a LEGAL immigrant to this country.

I came from Canada. Not because of turmoil in that province and country, but due to possibility and opportunity at a higher order further south in the Sonoran desert. I mention this because I can speak for the moral individuals who are and were attracted to the “beacon on the hill”. I can contribute my thoughts on why I never blinked when the time came to move south. Sure, there is an important conversation to be had on assimilation, border services and processes, labour changes, and safety. There is also most certainly a front end conversation to be had about the rules and laws that we as American citizens derive from the original documents from our Founders. Along with a scary, progressive chat on modernity, liberalism and the Golden Rule for all humans.

I would think that if most Americans were to spend a lot more time learning about that attraction to the USA, the original laws and ideas on the attraction, as well as positive, individual, legal stories; and a LOT less time learning and reacting from your daily “news” source on “the crackdown on illegal immigration”, change in thinking might occur.

Living in Arizona for 14 years gave me numerous chances to create my thoughts on the attraction. From hunting for javelina at the border and seeing the human trails, to observing my home and community being maintained by illegal immigrants, to being aware of my daughters participating in sport with a diverse set of females with some of them being considered DREAMERS - across the board, I am pretty darn close to a refined explanation of why anyone would want to be in the United States of America.

Within the opinions shared on the immigration topic, each American citizen needs to consider the influence from large corporations, big government policies on borders, crime and drugs as well as this over arching theme of doom and gloom for young people and the current and future cost of living. The easiest and lowest order way of approaching this topic is to scroll on fantasy media, listen only to humans who share your opinions, and essentially live your life reacting to the vitriol thrown about. Yes, this is the EASIEST way. It is hard and challenging to read a few books. Books on the topics that show the connection to the governments inability to do anything about crime and drugs due to the uncomfortable connection to large corporations and big money. That is a start.

It is a great thing about information progression today. The fact that only 25 years ago, it would take 10 years between cycles where the public becomes aware of the fact that this drug/border/immigration thing happens repetitively with no movement to make a few people a LOT of money. Today, these repeated errors are front and center, on a DAILY basis. This does result in fatigue, but it also results in an unfortunate cynicism on behalf of the citizen, where everyone who remains in tune sees that it is all a show, ie. entertainment. Combine that with how information is seen and heard and understood today, and you have a recipe for impatience and small, specific instances of revolution.

We are at the point where a neighboring country that has almost ZERO involvement in this drugs and crime issue with the USA, is perceived to be a “narco-terrorist” organization. We are shown and told that we killed all 12 of those humans, because they were sending enough drugs on dories across the ocean for one large party in a penthouse in Miami. All the tags that the unconscious, unaware, uninformed human will get is #immigration, #terrorism, #sex-trafficking, #cartel.

Yes, this is where we are. Full acceptance of these “things” that happen on the internet. We are not even sure if it is real. But most people will still leave that page or image and gossip about how awesome that was that we as a country obliterated some humans in the sea.

I have empathy to the individual LEGAL American citizens who followed the rules, and are still today, even at this very moment extremely affected by open borders or illegal immigration. My thoughts lie in numerous ways especially with individuals severely harmed by other individuals that turned out to be illegal and criminals at that. It is difficult, I know, to pull your mind away from the sorrow and not point at your elected representatives, or spout nonsense online using those emotions as fuel. Just on that topic alone, I gathered with hundreds of others last night to raise awareness of the 756,000 kids that go missing in the USA last night. Get this, 83% of these children are taken by American citizens. Think about those numbers for a second as you contemplate the emotions that are derived from the political pundits saying things like “the illegals are coning for your children”. This is pure hatred, and somewhat false.

I have empathy for the workers who are having a tough time finding a job asking for higher wages so they can live in this country. It is a reality that low skill work is here to stay, and I am sure that out of the 14 million illegal immigrants that crossed under Joe Biden’s watch, I would guess that there are quite a few of them who are kind people just trying to get by and will do all the grunt work necessary to put food on the table for their family. With this, they will also take the lowest pay, because again, it is the larger corporations that are scaling their systems to make money for shareholders. If overnight, there was no ability to pay people, subjectively speaking, 5$/hr, and instead payments are made considering geography, demographics, taxes, etc…to the employees, the whole system would crumble, as those shareholders would not have any money at the end of the day to grab as dividends they have earned for taking the risk involved in being a part of said company.

I have empathy to the people that are largely affected due to the hiring practices and services in a business being sub par because the employers are hiring based on social pressure to have minorities employed. Besides being one of the biggest punches in the face against the American, merit based dreams, it leads to sub par business practices. Where is the old adage of hustle, work hard, learn the skills in order to get employed? How about speaking fluently in English only?

The USA is most certainly at a tough spot. One can tell this when there have been cries for years on how to “fix the country”. In respect to the immigration topic, under which I have a leg to stand on in the conversation, the answer to the woes is quite simple. I should say that it is made to be quite complex, because of the chaotic media surrounding the topic, and of course the politics associated with it. Add to this, the current media nightmare that consists of being “civil and social” (which both no longer have meaning), and you have humans losing their mind with the answer being 1. a positive social project around assimilating all that have come across illegally, and 2. placing a monstrous, non porous border wall along the entire southern and northern USA border.

There are many, many individuals learning and writing and opining and researching and reporting on the topic of immigration. Or should we say, modern immigration. Within these writings are ideas and yes, real answers to a lot of these problems/woes. Many never see the light of day because life is chaotic now, and digital information packed. This and the fact that it truly seems as if there are so many problems in this country no one knows where to start besides the rehabilitative paradigm. Yes, drugs are willingly spilling over the border without the government truly caring about the thousands it kills. Yes, the government is continually sticking our nose in other countries business to simply sell war, war machines and own oil. Yes, POTUS was once a celebrity TV host and realtor. Yes, the kids are not alright; they are aware of the poor future predictions for themselves and their peers and see themselves and a lot of adults now as entertainers. I could go on, but again, I specifically have to get any ideas out of my head for peace of my BrainMind.

Some of the ideas for future change that are, and were proposed, mainly deal with being ok with the number of people that are here in good standing first. Then second, discussions on what those people could give back in “service” to the country that would work for most, not everyone, mainly so that they are not relying on the government alone for survival or going on the black market to stay away from government officials.

One idea is to have all military aged males serve the country in the national guard, domestic defense or abroad in community service to other under helped countries around the world. This service could of course entail assimilation, life skill training, vocational training alongside the payments to help themselves and their dependents get through this “service” process. Lets just play with some numbers. 10% of the mentioned 14 million were criminals. That makes 12.5 million left. Half we could assume were under age. That leaves 6.25 million. Half of most groups are males, half are females. That makes roughly 3 million to choose from. Lets keep going and say that 1 million of those 3 million are incapable due to age or physical disability. (Being fat and out of shape is not considered under disability, having no legs or being blind would be.) We are left with an approximation of 2 million to bolster our defense program. NOT the war program, the defense program

Another idea is to enlist capable adults into government infrastructure work. Road, bridges, highways, etc.. Not just holding signs but driving bulldozers, equipment and trucks, both large and small to get the job done. If, in 2025, anyone has taken a true driving summer holiday, you may notice that the country is in some serious need of physical repair.

One may notice a lack of commentary on the 10% of all illegal immigrants that are “supposedly” criminals, and nothing about what to do with them. First, I do not believe much of the data that the government throws up to me. Second, there are many, many, many more problems with crime within the entire USA in general to waste so much time and energy on those people alone. One should be aware, that when they hear “they are coming for your children and communities”, they should know that this is simply a political strategy to rally the troops behind a division of people and ideas.

It is a pipe dream. I know. But what is there besides ideas? Is the American citizenry waiting for a shining light politician to get into office and make some moves on this? Please! They are all entertainers, and they lie all the time. Its all a show. The sad thing is that most Americans would rather be “on a side” and have “their guy” than create and fund social projects to help the illegal immigrants that want to be here for the right reasons. They would rather sit back after a days work and have some media host tell them what they want to hear.

Deportations sound cool. Be careful on who you point your finger at for these practices as well. Do your research to see how many humans Barack Hussein Obama deported, or had stay in cages, before you want to call someone a fascist. There is no winning in that blame game. Remember, corporations, government and money need this drama to continue.

Assimilation of the current crop of illegal immigrants within the country would not be too difficult. Many of them already are model citizens based on the previously mentioned attraction. Many are believers. Many are family based. Many are hard workers. Add some english and driving lessons and problem solved. It is not that hard, as an idea alone.

With a solid, physical border and solid border policy, the world becomes aware that it matters to us who comes across. The wall would and should not be seen as a detriment, but like any wall, obtaining freedom by getting through the wall and having a chance at prosperity is hard. Doing the paperwork is hard. Being patient on meetings at the border is hard. Proving that you are willing to assimilate into American culture is hard.

The way in which social media sells division and hate would for sure increase the stigma associated with the possible assimilation of current illegal immigrants. But for those that choose to do it the right way, and take time time to work hard to get it, will not have the metaphorical scarlet letters II on their shirt for all to see. Instead they will vote, pay taxes, put their kids in school, have barbeques and cheer for the local team.

Under law, illegal immigrants do have rights as well. The right to representation, etc… How do you think the public will feel if all they see on the news is the high amount of “mistakes” by pulling an innocent female away from her kids, in the name of terrorism by the way, only to find out they “have the wrong person” or a mistaken identity. Most of the officers are just doing their job. Yes, most ICE and servicemen on the peace and police force have the right intentions, most. The case in which there are bad apple situations does not match up with the true data on crime on behalf of those essential service people. But again, the media points you the listener and consumer to immediately remember which side you are on, who is to blame and how to create fear and division.

It is NOT a right or left area of dispute. As mentioned there are far too many mistakes made from all sides on this area. Who is currently in majority in the top office of the nation gets to decide what the people are supposed to think about the topic. So when one says that immigration is a Right thing, they are simply, generally, wrong. Especially in 2025, where one is not even sure what is real and what is not. When it comes to modern facts, again, there is no doubt that there were 14 million illegal immigrants that crossed under Joe Biden’s…errr…Obama’s tenure. So when the office and majority of the government changes, which it has to and always does over time, it is easy to play the Left or Right side card. My personal belief is that most Americans, NOT the centralized media, think that the Left and Right is a myth. I do think there is some good arguments in that idea as proposed by academics in politics. This idea will make it more difficult under immigration policies in the future as there is no one to blame.

I think the public would agree that if the government law enforcement was to spend their time and energy on the illegals that are convicted criminals, and ONLY those that are proven guilty of crime in their former countries, and have a zero % fail on finding these people versus the shitty job they are doing currently with innocent American citizens, then I think that we could make a dent. This is only an idea, as the chance of this happening with the decreased numbers and skill and motivation in law enforcement, as well as the money that would have to be spent on the project would not get off the ground.

So, is community associations and institutions enough to make this work? Well, that was a major failure also. There were some minor league style programs that helped and made a dent, most of the others got caught up in a Marxist style crony capitalism shit storm that only helped those executives who were the head of those programs and not the people, or the volunteers and definitely not the immigrants. A word thrown around over the past 10 years is bureaucracy. Alongside this word has mainly been bloat. Bloating and cramping is uncomfortable, but if you have the government immigration system community programs resembling that which goes on in major universities now - that is MORE than uncomfortable. It will take more than some mild antacids to keep the issue at bay. It will take a full overhaul and rethinking to affect future generations. Otherwise only those in the top 5% will make it, everyone else will be forced to live off employment insurance or universal basic income.

With an indestructible wall on the north and south borders; solid, well maintained immigration policies going forward; a progressive (not a reactionary) approach dealing with the moral illegals now; and a clean up of the criminals who illegally entered, this might make some movement theoretically. In the end, with increasing costs daily of housing, education and simple things like energy required to make toast or drive a car, combined with the publics lowering trust in institutions and those that tell them to have purpose in their life, you have kindle for a a major fire.

I still get an emotional rise out of the Star Spangled Banner. I get angry when people boo and jeer when that song is played. I understand why those uneducated, ignorant people do what they do. I am aware of our own issues. I am aware of the pain that our government leaders have put out in the world, with interventionism, globalism, ugly rhetoric and parentalism.

Maybe it takes a modern legal immigrants perspective to add kindness and hard work to the new narrative. Anyone who does the work, the hard work to be a part of the club might feel the way I do about this country, that I love.
